Since his appointment as an information minister, Dr Ismaila Ceesay has started a series of initiatives aimed at publicising government’s policies and programmes. As part of those efforts, the information minister runs a “do you know” series on the Ministry’s official Facebook page seeking to improve the public image of the government.

In one of such publicity stunts— on June 3, 2024— the Ministry claimed the administration of president Adama Barrow had constructed over 800 kilometers of roads across the country between 2018 to 2024.
“Since 2018, the Government of The Gambia, through the Ministry of Works, Transport and Infrastructure has constructed over 800 kilometers of roads across the country,” the Ministry of Information said.
